Early Life
Ochoa was born Francisco Guillermo Ochoa Magana on July 13, 1985, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Career
Guillermo Ochoa began his football career with Club América in 2004. He went on loan to San Luis in 2004 and returned to Club América where he won the league title in 2005 and was the club’s first-choice goalkeeper until 2011 while making over 200 appearances for the club.
He signed for the French club, Ajaccio in 2011 and had three seasons with the club until their relegation from Ligue 1.
He joined Malaga in 2014 but failed to make an impact. He joined Granada on loan in 2016 and moved to Standard Liege in 2017, before returning to Club América in 2019.
He represented Mexico at the under-13 before being called up for the senior team. He was part of the team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He saved Lewandowski’s penalty in their first match against Poland which ended in a 0-0 draw at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
On 23 December 2022, Ochoa signed for Italian Serie A club Salernitana, agreeing on a contract until 30 June 2023 with a one-year extension option.
