Zielinski was born Piotr Sebastian Zielinski on May 20, 1994, in Ząbkowice, Śląskie, Poland.
He has two brothers, Pawel and Tomasz Zielinski, who are also professional footballers.
Career
Zielinski began his football career at the youth level with a local club, Orzel Ząbkowice, Śląskie, where he was coached by his father.
He joined Zaglębie Lubin at the age of 14 and rose through the ranks. He began training with the first team at the age of 15, and at 17, he moved to Udinese.
He played his first match for Udinese on November 2, 2012, in a Serie A match against Cagliari, where he came on as a substitute in the 91st minute for Antonio Di Natale.
He joined Empoli on loan in 2014 before his transfer to Napoli for a reported fee of €16 million, on August 4, 2016. He scored his first goal for the club in a 3-0 victory over Inter Milan.
He represented Poland at the under-16, under-17, under-19, and under-21 levels before being called up to the senior team.
He made his debut for the senior team in a friendly match against Liechtenstein, on June 4, 2013.
